This hoppy pale was brewed at the Clybourn pub for Goose Island's 22nd anniversary. It is full of big, bright and aromatic American hops with just enough pale and caramel malts for balance.

On-tap at Hopleaf during the Goose Island Beer Invasion, 5/26/2010. Ordered the Goose Island Smoked American Wheat and got this instead because the kegs were switched. It didn't take long to figure it out...
Pours amber with a light cream head.
Aroma is bitter citrus and grapefruit hops with some caramel malt balancing it out.
Taste upfront is citrus, orange peel, and light grapefruit with a moderate caramel malt middle. More bitter grapefruit hops come through at the finish to offset the malts.
Light to medium body with a slight creamyness and lower carbonation.
Going into this expecting a wheat beer was strange--so I may be overstating the hoppyness of it, but this is an APA with a great hop presence. Easy to drink with a good hop/malt balance.
