I had this one at the Clybourn pub on 7/3/2010...served in a pint glass.
A= This ale poured a clear deep orange gold color with a 3/8" loose white head. The head settled quickly to a thin skim and left some wispy lace down my glass.
S= Aroma was unquestionably English, light on the caramel malt and showing a nice floral hop note.
T= Keeping in mind this is a 3.5% session strength bitter, the flavor was pretty remarkable. The malt flavor was thin, but pleasant with caramel and biscuity notes present. The hops were billed as being English Sovereign hops and they balanced this ale nicely with a floral and earthy bitterness. Esters were light but fruity. Finish was pretty balanced with a slight lean toward the hops.
MF= Thin bodied with a low-medium carbonation and slightly watery feel.
D= A very nice session bitter that suited my pub burger very well on a hot July day.
