Draft at the Goose Island Clybourn pub. Dark hoppy stout with french roast coffee. Seriously HUGE notes of coffee in the nose. Coffee pretty much dominates this beer. Poured a very black/brown color with a wispy tan head. The taste is really good with the very strong coffee flavor along with some dark chocolate and leather in the end. Slight bitterness in the end. Never really got any of the lemon flavors in this one. Medium mouthfeel.

Served in a snifter at Goose Island-Clybourn 8/29/10.
A: Served jet-black with one creamy finger of dark khaki foam. Great retention, plentiful lace, and carbonation that's there, but not overpowering.
S: Smells exactly like extremely high quality dark roast coffee...with a bit of dark chocolate thrown in, to boot! Absolutely fantastic.
T: Exactly as above with some freshly shaved lemon/orange zest. The citrus becomes pretty apparent by the end of the glass.
M: Big coffee bitterness with a bit of fresh citrus tang and spicy hops. Touch of malty sweetness in the long finish.
D: Wow! Even in this hot weather this was so refreshing.
