Murky brown color with some tan head ringing the glass.

Mild nose - some bread & funk come through. Flavor is similar, but you get a bit more spice and citrus. Light and well carbonated with a short-lived finish.

Tasty, and while not one of my favorites, I would drink it again if given the chance.

A - Very dark red beer, head receded to a partial cap and left no lacing. Looks pretty robust and big, not a ton of carbonation movement on this.

S - Herbal and medicinal. Kind of odd, not sure where this is going.

T - Tastes like herbs and tea, kind of medicine maybe. Kind of a strange taste, wouldn't have really picked this as a wheat beer. Some sort of nutty stuff going on there as well.

M - Little bit flat, ligher side of medium bodied.

D - Pretty average drinkability for something at this ABV.

(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer has a warm brown slightly dense body with a thin creamy light tan head that last for a good bit there is a gentle carbonation.
S- The wheat and pumpkin spice note fades into the slightly dark malt aroma with a dried leaves hint blended in. The note of bread crust grows as the beer opens up and turns into a hair perm aroma about half way through the beer.
T- The slight pumpkin beer flavor has a bite of Szechwan peppercorn that makes the lips go numb. There is a slight peppery orange and anise note that turns into a hair perm flavor in the finish. The citrus tartness in the finish is bright and tangy and help cover some of the hair perm.
M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a fizzy tight finish.
D- This beer has an interesting depth of flavor but the Szechwan peppercorn numbing the lips and tongue and the Seville orange and anise finish seem a bit quirky together. Definitely unique, but I think I will pass on a second class.

On tap into a tasting glass...An ugly dark brown that is a light quad, think of Rochefort 6. An off white head that has really good retention but poor lacing...A strong aroma but in all the wrong ways; herbal, medicinal, juniper and eucyalyptis dominate, its not a good combination. The euca overpowers everything. Strangely on the back there is a creamy peanut butter finish. I hate this combination and does not entice me to drink it but I give it credit for being super complex and unique...Taste is thankfully lighter and not as much herb comes through, still undertones of euca the whole way. Tastes like a light gruit beer.

Not a beer worth trying.

I didn't know such a thing as a "dark wit" existed when I was drinking this beer, but afterwards when I found out what it was I was pretty excited by the thought.

This beer is very dark brown with a small tan head, and the smell was fairly weak outside of a strong pepper note. It tasted good--I guess I saw the wheat character once someone told me what it was, with some nice banana backed up by that hint of orange rind, but I also found the pepper and something like chicory very prominent and maybe a little strong for my palate.

It's an interesting beer and worth a try, but I don't know if I would drink it regularly.
