Double Barrel-Aged Barleywine aged in Rye Whiskey.

Alongside MORE brewing, we are excited to bring to you our version of Tusk & Feather. This double barrel-aged barleywine was aged in Elijah Craig rye whiskey barrels and was finished in another set of freshly emptied Elijah Craig rye whiskey barrels. Tusk & Feather is packed with notes of charred oak and rich toffee with an herbal finish.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. Best by 2/6/29, had 9/28/24. Also had at Fobab 2024.

Pours a clear copper color, with a slight head and a few specks of cling. Aromas of rye whiskey, caramel, malt, fig, raisin, some oak, light char. Has a lightly spicy aroma. Mostly the same flavors: rye whiskey, caramel, raisin, malt, some fig, light oak. Has a spicy taste and a light sweet note, along with some alcohol warming. Mostly smooth, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated.

A solid effort, just a hair behind the More version. Barrel forward, with lots of tasty, spicy rye and expressive aromas and flavors overall. Glad I have one more.

Cellared a year and a half. Very dark brown with a tan ring. Rye whiskey is full, with accents of caramel, toffee, raisin, oak, lesser so warm vanillins, char, barley, and a kiss of toasted coconut. Taste is simpler with a lot of focus on the toffee, oak, and rye whiskey, minor dark fruits, barley, and coconut. Feel is warm and smooth with slightly syrup texture on the backend but not to a problematic way. This series was wonderful!

Oh damn this is magnificent, very sticky, both in sweetness and viscosity. The barrel notes are deep and delicious, prickly booze, nutty oak, earthy vanilla, and some heavily toasted coconut. The base barleywine features tons of smooth caramel with some dates and brown sugar. One of the best I've had in a long time.
