An export stout infused with Crop 2 Cup coffee beans and aged with sour yeast in Evan Williams bourbon barrels.
A - A coal black beer, completely opaque. Had a finger of light-tan head that faded quickly to a partial cap and ring. Pretty ominous looking.
S - There's a lot of green coffee in here, smells very raw, quite wood-like. There is some coffee, a lot of tartness in this one, it actually does smell a little bit like acidic rhubarb. Not sure where the bourbon is, not getting any of that at all.
T - Thankfully does not taste raw and woody like the smell. Very tart and acetic, serve this to me blindfolded and I never would have guessed this is any type of stout. There is some coffee on the end that is fairly rich, but you really have to look for it as it hits and runs real fast. Still not getting any bourbon. As you drink more and get fatigued by the very sour nature of this beer, the coffee starts to come out more.
M - A little acidic bite, pretty full bodied, smooth, moderate carbonation.
O - This beer was interesting, but I was hoping for a little more stout/bourbon/coffee. A little hard to drink but worth trying.
