After 36 years of brewing here in the city of Chicago, we’re toasting to our hometown with our 10,000th batch of beer, Grand Cru. This very special Belgian-Style Strong Ale was aged in neutral oak barrels for 8 months, resulting in a stunning display of spice, fruitiness, and a luxuriously long finish.

12 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. A 2024 release. Drink by 12/17/25, had 6/27/25.
Pours a golden orange color, mostly clear, with a half inch foamy head and some foamy lacing. Aromas of malt, Belgian yeast, wheat, some oak, light black pepper, a light white wine note. Smells a bit spicy and lightly sweet. Flavors of malt, Belgian yeast, oak, wheat, light caramel, a hint of a white wine note. Tastes a bit spicy and kind of taste some typical Belgian spicing, but unsure. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
A solid example of the style, aromatic and flavorful. The oak barrels really pop in the flavor, giving it a different vibe. Well worth a purchase.
