Interesting beer. Belgian red ale. I'm assuming we're also referring to a Belgian amber ale here. Lots of thicker peaty malts. Real deep and subtle slightly fruity tones. Kind of woody. A nice ale, though it may be a bit too thick and hearty for some. Frankly, it's a bit too thick even for me. Nice to try though.

Served in a tulip glass at the Clkybourn brewpub.
Dammit, I wish I could remember enough of my year of Latin to translate this beer's name (effort be damned!). It pours a clear dark ruby-garnet topped by a finger of light-ish tan foam. The nose comprises tangerine, light blood orange, dark wheat, light cherry, black pepper, and light dark grass. The taste holds notes of orange rind, light chocolate powder, anise, light vanilla bean, clove, and toasted wheat. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a rather dry finish. Overall, a tasty, Jekyll/Hyde brew. Good times.
