I tasted "Trippel Play," which I was told was formerly known as Goose Island Blue.
A good, typical complex trippel-style beer. A beautiful deep, yellow color with very little head. Has a yeasty smell, and immediately tastes of raisins and a strong ester flavor. Quite sweet with almost no bitterness, though definitely some spiciness. After the complexity died away, was left with a lemony aftertaste. I couldn't taste the high alcohol content, which I suppose is a good thing.

Presentation: On tap at the brewpub and served in a solid, heavy chalice/goblet.
Appearance: Dark brown with a reddish hue. Head comprises of an off-white lace that tapers to a whispy ringed lace.
Smell: Grain, faint medicinal yeast spice and touch of floral perfume in the aroma.
Taste: Creamy, bitty, coarse mouthfeel with an earthy rind-like hop flavour initially. Rye-like phenolic bite mingles well and complements the hop character. Rich, sweet malt profile with loads of fruit complexities. Alcohol notes, which are a bit spicy. Finishes with a residual coarse hop and malt sweetness and touch of dryness which is near champagne-like at the end.
Notes: This is GIW's attempt to recreate Chimays Blue / Grande Réserve, and it's a pretty good stab at the classic Trappist beer.
