Served in a tulip glass at the brewpub.
The newest in GI's Farmers' Market series, this is a Belgian singel brewed with Concord grapes from Michigan. Right on. It pours a mostly clear amber-tawny topped by two fingers of pink-white foam and populated by a myriad of pretty large floaties. I gotta say, this looks strikingly different from the menu's description of it, which would lead one to believe that it pours a dark blue... Anyway, the nose comprises tangerine, white grapes, freshly-mowed grass, orange rind, and very light clove. The taste holds notes of oaked chardonnay, greens, very light mint, light black pepper, and tangelo zest. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda dry finish. Overall, this beer almost worked very nicely. Unfortunately, past the halfway point in the glass, the beer's flavors cease to coexist peacefully and inch ever closer to violently clashing with every passing moment. It's still not bad, just not something I ever really wanna drink again...
