Served in an imperial pint glass at the Clybourn brewpub.
Brewed in honor of John Hall's induction into Shaw's Crab House's Oyster Hall of Fame (...okay...), this is an oyster stout that had pretty much nothing to do with oysters (though they tell me it pairs pretty well with a plate of 'em...). It pours a very dark and deep black-brown topped by over a finger of tan foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, blackened pretzel, minerals, and light coffee. The taste brings in more of the same, though with a touch less pretzel character. The body is a very light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a slick feel. Overall, a pretty solid stout. I will say, though, that it came across as a bit too thin and slick for my tastes, but I suppose those characteristics would lend themselves well to pairing with oysters.
