Had this right after a tour and tasting at the Clybourn brewpub. Served in a chalice.

A: Was a clear amber color with a short faint tan head with small amounts of lacing.

S: Rich aroma of yeast, malts, spices, wheat, herbs, fruity, grapes and plums in particular, had a champagne feel to it.

T: Quite good, fairly sweet, brown sugar, yeast, malts, barley, grapes, prunes, wheat, herbs and spices with a bit of warmth from the alcohol.

M: A fairly full bodied beer, lower levels of carbonation, fairly thick

O: Overall, I'm very indecisive and can never make my mind up, so I randomly chose this and was very pleased. I don/t think they bottle this one so you have to go to the brewpub to get it. Worth it though. Recommended by me.

Served in a chalice at the Clybourn brewpub.

Not to toot mine own horn, but I bet I could wipe the floor with most contenders in Jeopardy!... Anyway, this stuff pours a hazy garnet-ruby topped by a finger of lightly off-cream foam. The nose comprises light dried maple syrup, white grape, rye bread, Belgian yeast, and clove. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some light brown sugar and cinnamon and a heftier dose of clove. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda creamy feel. Overall, a solid, spicy dubbel. Not bad at all.
