Served in a stein at the Clybourn brewpub.
The pre-Gold Box Excursion rolls on to a Munich helles made with smoked malts. I'm GI's huckleberry here. It pours a clear pale brass topped by a half-finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises mild wheat, mild smoke, and light flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, with the smoke taking on a sweeter, hammier character, which melds well with the sweet biscuit-like nature of its surroundings. The body is a rather light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a wet feel. Overall, a pretty nice smoked helles, one that certainly doesn't overdo the smoke, something that allows for a high drinkability. And this is coming from an avowed smoke-fiend.
