Served in a tulip glass at the Clybourn brewpub.
The Pre-Gold Box Excursion continues with the newest Farmers' Market offering, made with tart cherries from Mick Klug Farm in St. Joseph, MI, and peppermint from Smits Farm in Chicago Heights, IL. Honestly, I didn't even know there were farms in Chicago Heights, but I'm not gonna argue. This stuff pours a clear rose-pink topped by a finger of pink foam. The nose comprises light cherry skin, mild spicy greens, and wheat. The taste brings in more of the same, with a stronger cherry contingent and a vein of peppermint in the background. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying finish. Overall, a decent little brew, but I feel the combination sounded better on paper than it became in the glass. Still, I applaud the experimentation...
