On tap at the brewery. Served in a brewery logoed pint glass.
A: This beer was served a clear light caramel color with yellowish edges and absolutely no head. The head issue could be due to the fact that this beer was served (without asking me when I ordered) with a quarter of an orange hooked onto the edge of my glass. What kind of craft brewery still serves fruit in their wheat beers? Or at the very least, what kind of brewery doesn’t ask first? Maybe it was my fault. I’m not sure if I should rate this a 1.0 on appearance since I had an orchard dipped in my beer, or just ignore it. After all, the color is nice enough.
S: Super light notes of bread, a bit of sweetness and a bit of citrus (orange?!)
T: Clean and sweet with light notes of caramel, crystal wheat and cracked grains. It’s bready and lemony with roasted flavors in the finish. The graininess almost reminded me of pancakes at times, and I might almost get a hint of cough medicine. Citrus really hints in the finish (orange?!).
M: Tingly carbonation, medium body and refreshing enough.
O: Drank pretty good overall but it’s nothing really mind blowing. There definitely is more flavor here than some of the other pale wheat beers I’ve had, but then again it’s got a long way to go to match the greats of the style.
