Standard German atmosphere almost to the point of being kitschy, then place is located just out of the center of the city on the main drag going to the Olympic stadium. It sits just far enough off the busy road to make outdoor seating on the patio in front fairly pleasant. The patio is under a blue and white tent, with fake vines wound around the railing and support columns. Some of the waitstaff are in dirndls, but not all. Since it was a nice day, I didn't go inside at all. The salad was OK, but the Nürnburg sausages were fantastic.
Nine taps, including a pretty good Helles contract brewed just for them. Other taps included Paulaner Hell- and Dunkelweissbier, Krombacher, Fürstenburg, Beck's, Pilsner Urquell, Krusovice Dark and Blanche des Bruxelles (pardon my bad French). The beers were served well, at the right temperature and in appropriate glassware. If you end up on the wrong side of the river from Gorky Park, this is the place to go to regroup.
