On-tap into a pint glass... This was suppose to be the best beer they had, probably was but still not saying a whole lot... Pours a totally clear dark orange with notes of copper, looks good. The head is a nice off white, good retention and lace... The aroma is also pretty good, mostly grassy on the front with a hint of caramel, pine hop finish... The taste is decent at first, light toffee and grass. The finish becomes way too bitter, hops are off, reminds me more of an ipa. Not terrible but I wouldn't have this again unless my prison was Harrison's and I was sentenced to life without parole.

I had this on tap at the Harrison's in Orland Park, IL on 11/11/2008.

A= This ale poured a clear darkish copper/amber color with a thin tan head. The head quickly dropped to a skim and left minimal lacing.

S= Aromas were very muted and comtained sweet malts and earthy hops. Not very noteworthy.

T= Some biscuit maltiness up front with a faint earthy hop note midway through. Finish was frankly terrible, with an unpleasant lingering aftertaste of sulfur and soap.

MF= This had (IMO) a too-thin body and watery mouthfeel. Carbonation was moderate.

D= I hate to be hating on a locally brewed beer, but this was bad. I don't know if their recipe was off on this batch or what but it was nearly the worst pale ale I have ever had...

(Served in an American Pint glass)

A- This beer has a light warm brown body that is crystal clear with a gentle carbonation. There is a light tan head that has some nice lacing for a bit.

S- The smell of dry raw grain has a pale malt and biscuit malt smell.

T- The fresh pale malt flavor has a nice note of biscuit with a finish of pine hops finish. The hop finish is mostly bitterness with the pine flavor being much fainter.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a tight fizz that boost the hops bitterness.

D- This beer is nice but the malts are a bit dry and could have a few more complex flavors.
