This uber-IPA is over-hopped. Some people like over-hopped beers, especially IPAs. I understand the appeal, but only to a limited extent, beyond which a beer can quickly collapse into a state of imbalanced over-indulgence. Such is the case here. The bittering is simply too aggressive, creating an insurmountable obstacle to casual appreciation. The over-abundance of bittering-range hops delivers a smart sudsy head to the exceptionally dense orange-topaz body, though oddly there is very little hop aroma. Not unexpectedly, the mouthfeel is taut and suffers from the excess herbage.

You might like this beer, but try a sample before committing to a pint.

I might add that this was my second and final beer of the evening. I was tired enough for a variety of reasons, but I’m convinced that all those hops made me ridiculously drowsy.
