Poured from a bomber into a pint glass in high elevation Libby, Mont. Reviewed live. ABV is 4.4 percent.

A- Two-finger cream colored head. Hazy orange color. Quickly sliding lacing. Overall a pretty attractive beer.

S- Tropical fruits, pineapple, guava. Piney hops, candied fruits, pine nuts. Semi-roasty.

T- Creamy, well hopped, pine nuts and medium bodied malts. Not tremendously complex, but not bad.

M- Creamy and full bodied with a slight stickiness. Semi-dry finish.

O- Not an excellent beer, but certainly a palatable one.

Thanks to OKComputer for sharing this one. Poured into blue Solo cup for consumption while walking to a brewers night at local store. The beer was the typical light brown of the style, with just a thin ring of slightly off-white head that had minimal retention and lacing.

The aroma was lacking the crisp grain scent I look for in the style, and was overly sweet. The flavors were pretty much the same, sweet and muted, but also featured a noticeable cardboard component.

The body was typical, but very sticky, especially on the finish. Drinkability was OK, but with this beer lacking any real personality, why bother. Overall, a slightly below average example of the style. Worth trying a taster if you see it at the pub.

Appearance is a light golden amber with a heafty head. Aroma is of light malts, slightly metallic. Taste carries a mild sweetness from the malts, grain and a cloying bitter metallic aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light to medium with good body. Not what I would consider a session, it doesn't have that clean finish I would consider in this type of beer to keep it going, so I'll just stop at this one.

I’m at a partial loss to evaluate this Vienna-style lager as I really don’t possess enough familiarity with the style to speak of it authoritatively. It’s not widely reproduced in the Northwest and I can’t say as I’ve given the style much attention otherwise. Still, I know what I like and I know quality when I experience it, and my impression of Methow’s Vienna Lager was that it was rather middle-of-the-road. It offered slack carbonation and was nearly absent of suds. The grainy aroma was faint and the flavor was cereal essence tinged with sharp bittering. The body was also not especially clear for a lager and the taste was correspondingly not clean.

Not entirely bad, but none too interesting either.
