Presentation: 12 oz brown long neck with no freshness date or info about the beer on the label.
Appearance: An energetic pour yielded a semi dense frothy head, deep reddish amber with a mild chill haze shows a glare beyond the light.
Smell: Deep and complex malt sweetness of cooked toffee and brown bread, hops are sweet and coarse within the nose which oddly complement and contrast in a good way.
Taste: Soft palate, lightly crisp carbonation and creamy malty medium to full mouth feel. Bitterness kicks in quick with a sharpness that grows and cut throw everything. Fruity for a second with apple skins and citrus rind, the fast to the caramel malt and crust of the bread maltiness. Bitterness puckers to a point then subsides slowly to let in some dry grain and leaf hop settle in for the finish.
Notes: One of the bigger summer seasonal we have encountered, just a huge happy-do-lucky amber ale that drops both malt and hops on the mouth like a shot-gun wedding ... don't worry your taste buds will learn to love it.
