Poured on tap at brew pub into pint glass. Reviewed from notes, enjoyed on numerous occasions.
A: Pours a very light brown color, with a decent amount of light getting through. A very thin, oily looking head sits a top. Does not last long.
N: A bit of Belgian like ripe fruit sweetness on the nose, followed by a good dose of roasted malt and some underlying bitterness.
T: Not as much of that "fruity Belgian" character I pick up in the nose, the taste is much more straight forward. A crisp malt character give this beer a nice base, with hints of caramel and nuts, maybe some burnt sugar.
M: Carbonation is solid, isn't too sweet or sticky or cloying. A nice balance on the palate.
D and O: Easy drinking, very enjoyable local brown ale.
