A new offering that I haven't seen here before.
The server described it as "lighter and less bitter" than Bat out of Helles, which I had a few weeks ago. "And the hops arent smoked..." Ok, hmm...i'll just have to try it for myself.
It arrives brimming to the top of an imperial-style pint, with a small amount of foam. Cloudy yellow, fair clarity. Aroma is husky and mildly vegetal. Not even a trace of hops here. Taste has a big corn flavor that ruins the moutfeel as well. Slick on the tongue, and I just wanted to put it down without tasting it. That's a bad sign. Unfortunately it stayed on the palate way too long. It was watery enough that the pint could be finished, but I was chasing it with water. Again no hops, just corn and pale malt. Very average, skip it.
I'm guessing the name is a sly jab at their increasingly white-collar after work clientele, who are certainly not in on this little joke.
