Snagged some from Crizay's glass. Pours black with a very light tan head. Smell is roasty, full of licorice and belgian yeast. Taste is lightly tart and raosty chocolate and licorice with a strong belgian character. Flavorful, just not my style. Still could recommend this beer to others.

Served in a tulip glass at Piece 5/4/08. Thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist!
Brewed in memory of their assistant brewers' dog.
A: Served a dark, dark black with a tiny dark tan head. Quite still and with minimal lacing.
S: Slightly hard to get a nose out of it at first. As it warmed we noticed aromas of oak, vanilla, and dark fruit.
T: Large flavors of roasted malt, dark fruit, tart apple, chocolate (bitter/dark), vanilla, date, bitter coffee/espresso, cherry, Belgian yeast, and cola nut.
M: Starts smooth and sweet and gradually finishes peppery and dry. A pleasure to drink!
D: Pretty damn good. Lots of interesting flavors here. Proper temperature is the key!
