Imperial pint at Piece.
Slightly hazed golden orange, thin layer of foam across the top, swirling veil of skim. Some visible carbonation and minimal frothy lacing.
Subdued malty aroma, somewhat yeasty, bready with Golden Promise, or similar English specialty malt. Could use a little more in the way of hop aromatics.
Crisp and smooth body, mild pale malt breadiness, crackers, some yeastiness, and vague earthy bitterness in the finish that's barely there. Light bodied with mellow carbonation. Clean and easy drinking, zero flaws, true to style in simple fashion. For a style meant to be subtle and sessioned by design, this is a good example. Nothing extreme here, just plain and simple, which is vastly underrated these days.

Slightly cloudy amber in color. Served with only a minimal white head that clings to the edges of the glass. Aroma is of citrus and a metallic bitterness. Flavor follows the aroma with a light pale malt base, a mild bitterness, some lemon, and, for lack of a better word, a sort of "acidic" metallic finish. Body is fairy light with lighter carbonation. Really just not a very good beer and not a good representation of the style.

On-tap at the pub. I've had this twice nice, first time was at On Photon I believe... Pours a dark peach color, a bright off white head, solid cap... The aroma is light toffee, not bad, too light... The taste is really bland, a touch of toffee, nothing else. The finish is bitter metallic so that really hurts this.
Not a big fan of this, twice is enough for me.
