There's a curse to being a Rauchbier fiend - namely, that once you've tried anything from Schlenkerla nothing will ever taste quite as good. That said, this is probably one of the best attempts I've had - it's definitely reminiscent of Sch. Marzen, with a lovely smoky aroma and a very present smoked-ham flavour. Sadly the mouthfeel is slightly watery and overall the flavour simply isn't as intense as Schlenkerla. Nonetheless I was surprised to find such a decent take on Rauchbier in the Czech Republic - only one of two Rauchbiers in a vast array Czech beers, and certainly the superior one. If Schlenkerla isn't available and you spot this, it's definitely worth a try.
