Advent day 10
This had me very worried. I don't like cider.
Pleasantly, the taste was buttery and only slightly apple flavored, with more spice notes of cinnamon and nutmeg (and even vanilla?) coming through.
Basically, apple pie in a glass. I could even taste the pastry.

Sounded like it could be an interesting “Graf”, but tastes like apple bubblegum.

341ml bottle, day 10 of the 2017 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar. An 'apple cinnamon white beer'.

This beer pours a hazy, pale golden straw colour, with one massively teeming tower of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy bone-white head, which leaves some thick swaths of streaky lace around the glass as it rather lazily recedes.

It smells of musty apples, a subtle cinnamon and coriander spiciness, gritty and grainy wheat malt, an earthy yeastiness, and some tame leafy, herbal, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is slightly phenolic yeast, grainy and crackery pale malt, a lesser edgy wheatiness, overripe apples, muddled seasonal spices, and more understated earthy, musty, and dead floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its structurally supportive frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and not particularly smooth, as that invasive yeasty essence takes a heavy toll here. It finishes trending dry, the yeast and general mustiness wanly seeing us out the door.

Overall - there are just too many drawbacks (the stupid erupting effervescence upon cracking the cap, the varied musty notes), and too few positives (the weak apple fruitiness) for me to have anything good to say about this offering. Not a pleasant experience.
