on tap at the pub about an hour ago, poured into a standard pint glass

a: deep brown color, light foamy head with fair retention, does reduce to very light lacing rings and cap.

s: nutty, slight hint of caramel and toffee

t: caramel and toffee flavors are pleasing. Slight hint of bitterness, but just enough to balance. hint of alchohol as it warms. Over all a very nice brown ale, almost wish they made this year round/

m&d: light to medium bodied, light carbonation. Quite drinkable and amongst the best I've sampled from WBC.

Cheers!!!

A Pleasing dark brown, translucent appearance
S Nutty, interesting with hint of coffee
T Really interesting with caramel, toffee and coffee tastes. Nutty finish which really made it interesting, something that you want a few more drinks of to experience it in total.
M pleasing, complex.
D I not only could have several of these but I thought at the time that it would be great with food. That is particularly convenient since the Willoughby Brewing Company makes such good food.

Northern Trail Nut Brown was one of the better beers at Willoughby Brewing Company.

Not to be compared to the present review at all as Larry is only in his first few months. I believe he did not make it. This is a thin mouthfeel sweet brown with a bit of head and high carbonation. A tad of chocolate malt, no nuttiness or the like. Nothing special. At the brewpub.
