22 OZ bottle
Served in a goblet
This beer pours a ruddy brown with ruby highlights. It is topped with minimal tan head that leaves no lacing.
It has a boozy aroma. It almost has a whiskey smell. I get some date and fig but mostly booze.
The booze is hidden better in the flavor. I get some date and fig with a plum and raisin. The alcohol is warming and not a prevalent as is the smell. It has a semi dry finish.
Full mouthfeel with low carbonation
It was good, not great. The booze made it presence felt without being too much. I do like it more the more I drink. That could be do to the 11.5% ABV!

Deep red, fizzy tan head rapidly dissipates. Aroma of cherries, plums, booze. Taste: bready, lots of dark fruit, Belgian yeast, and some booze on the finish. Very pleased by this one.

Willoughby Brutes Quad
Look 8/10
Smell 18/20
Taste 37/40
Feel 8/10
Drinkability 20/20
Overall 91/100
Summery: Pleasantly surprised, Willoughby doesn't bottle too often. I really liked this take on a Belgian style dark. The taste may not 'wow' you or knock your socks off. That said, the subtly muted flavor certainly wont offend you. Remarkably drinkable at 11.5%. Hope to see this again~

Love the name! 22oz bottle poured into a chalice
A: Ruby colored with a brownish tint; no head
S: Raisins, brandied cherries, dates, Belgian yeast and butterscotch. Fairly complex
T: Matches the aromas note for note but adding a bit of alcohol towards the finish
M: Full-bodied, a touch boozy
O: Overall a solid brew and it fits the style well. Even though they're offering Crowlers now, I'd love to see more Willoughby bottles to see how their beers age

An all around good Quad here. Big Dark Fruits, Bready Malt, Sweetness is kept in check, and there's a bit of Booze on the finish. Good offering from Willoughby.
