Pours black with a decent size creamy dark tan colored head. Aroma is roasted malts, tangy acidity and some alcohol wakes the nose hairs, some chocolate, nutty maltiness and a little black licorice as well. Taste is a nutty roasty malt, coffee, smoky, a decently hoppy finish is drying. Some of the tangy acidity in the finish as well. Mouthfeel is medium in body, wants to be creamy but there is a pepperiness there that cuts through. Slightly bitter hoppiness in the drying finish and a warmth from the alcohol at the back of the throat. A very nice stout, very coffee like and very drinkable despite the higher abv. Thanks George for this opportunity.

Had from on tap in tall, narrow glass.

A Very pleasing, dark, opaque that light had difficulty getting through.
S Very little smell but the slight aroma was a pleasing, coffee, chocolately one.
T Great, with the same qualities discovered in the aroma of chocolate, coffee and even a molasses taste. Very interesting and active. Also very smooth.
M Very distinctive. Sticks to toungue and inside of mouth in the way that molasses might. It is thick without being too much so.
D Good because I could only have two of these since the alcohol content is 9.5 ABV. It is a heavy beer too. An excellent selection for a dessert beer.

A great stout.
