One-Hopper Belgian IPA The third and final 1-Hopper IPA merges with our Belgian series. 50 pounds of Valencia oranges, lots of specialty malts and a whole lot of our featured "Warrior" hop (a bold and spicy hop variety). Being that this is our final run on the "1-Hopper series" we thought that it should go out with a creative, yet unique bang! 7.5% abv. 99+IBU's
A poured from tap into pint glass, light brown translucent body with minimal to no head by the time the waitress walked the 15 feet from the bar to our table.
S Hops but not intense. Not many of the Willoughby Brewing Company beers have a distinctive taste imo.
T Hops dominate. It is difficult to discern any of the other tastes suggested by the description above. It is too bitter as all hop centric beers are imo.
M Full, acidic.
D Poor too bitter. I finished 80 per cent of my pint with my dinner which was actually pretty good, a mashed potato pizza with bacon.
Notes: Willoughby Brewing Company is better at food than they are with their beer. They had a high quality one time only beer in Willoughby Belgian Fog a while back, a recent Double Chocolate Dunkel and their 10th Anniversary Ale was also well worth it but nearly every other attempt has fallen short for me.
