Comes in a snifter and pours to a nice, lasting head with beautiful lacing. Black as night, just the way a RIS should be. I will say this, for a RIS it’s soooo smooth and at 9%, it is dangerously drinkable. Roasted malt sweetness right up front with a slight bitterness on the back end (maybe from Black Patent malt or the hops…not sure). This is Jay and Thomas’ first Russian Imperial Stout and they nailed it! I’m not sure how the flavors changed as it warmed up because I drank the two pints I had too fast to find out. Mmmm….stout….
