Our newest IPA, Supernova, is a Double IPA with copious amounts of malt and hops which bring it to 10% abv and 105 IBUS. We used a lot of American hops including Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe and Cascade.

A very powerful IIPA in all aspects. Heavy does of citrus and pine in both smell and taste. Heavy, sweet malt body with some alcohol burn on the end. Reminds me of a slightly lesser version of Dreadnaught from FFF. Another great beer from one of the best breweries in the state!

32oz growler filled at Heinen's in University Hts., Ohio
Growler poured into a tulip. Pours a burnt orange with a subtle haze, but still has some clarity and transparency to it; small off-white head that fades leaving solid retention and lacing. The aromas are pretty tropical. Lots of pineapple. Hints of caramel malts, but the hops shine. The flavors are very bold. More pineapple along with some mango and papaya. Lots of orange and grapefruit too, especially in the finish. Slightly warm and spicy. Very solid bitterness with nice hop flavor. Malts are definitely present, but the hops still shine. Alcohol notes pop up once in awhile, but it's well hidden for the most part. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's full-bodied with active carbonation. It's fluffy and smooth. Dangerously drinkable. This makes for a nice sipper.
This one comes off as a "Triple IPA". Great hoppy brew. Well crafted and very enjoyable. Recommended.

This is a very solid brew. Nice sweetness from malts followed by big hops both in the smell and on the tounge. Citrus pine and a little tropical fruits are dominant. Well done.

I think this is a double APA, not a double IPA. There just aren't enough hops, though there's no way you'd guess it is 10% abv.

32OZ. crowler
Served in a teku glass
I will call the color of this beer amber. It is hazy. There was a mountain of beige head from my sloppy pour. There is some decent lacing.
I can definitely tell it is 9.95% ABV. The alcohol is not hidden at all. The malt is surprisingly apparent as well giving a sweet aroma. I get some pine from the hops.
This is a sweeter DIPA, and the alcohol is front and center. It has a pine flavor.
I had a sample at the brewpub. This is not as good as the sample. It's pretty boozy, but I'm watching sports all day, so it'll get drank. Plus it made me think of Powerman 500. I had to listen to Supernova a couple times while I drank a glass.

Supernova, brewed for Willoughby Brewing Co's 15th anniversary, tapped 2/15/2013. 10.0% ABV and 105 IBUs.
Pale-orange elixir, served in a snifter for $5. Clear brew, no lacing or head.
Dank, piney hops. Alcohol vapors. That's about it.
Bitter from start to finish with a huge alcohol presence that lingers.
Medium body, slick, oily.
This brew is fairly one dimensional with quite a large, heavy alcohol load coming through. More of a triple IPA in taste, reminds me of Hoppin' Frog's Hop Dam, but not nearly in that league. Really hoped that they would have knocked one out with this, being an anniversary brew and all.
