Originally sampled on 22 December 2002. Akron/Macon has a clear copper color, w/ an interestingly sweet nose. Nice rounded up front flavor w/ a slightly hoppy finish. Great balance. This is a very easy drinking beer. In fact, it would make a great session beer.

Not a bad altbier. Interesting tea-like flavor, some caramel, wood (sourwood, oak, whatever toothpicks are made out of). Slight hop bite at the end. Copper Creek Brewpub's alt is a bit better with a slightly more assertive hopping and a little less sweet, but this is definitely a very easy-drinking beer.

Acquired via trade. This brew pours a deep copper with just a touch of chill haze and a fairly dense cream colored head. The aroma is hard to pick up, but there's a bit of herbal hops, some caramel and a bit of sourness. Thankfully, that sourness does not come across in the taste. Indeed, the taste is nicely balanced between crystal malts and herbal (Hallertau, I'm guessing) hops. It is very smooth and has a clean finish...very lager-like.

What a wonderfully balanced beer. I was not expecting much from a beer from the Rubber City (tires, you pervert). The beer is a dark brown with an amber tint. Thick and rather foamy beige head. Nice malt and caramel flavor but it is not overpoweringly sweet. This is all nicely contrasted with a hops kick. The finish is lively and nicely hopped. I lament the loss of this fine beer, and the fact that it was never available to me locally.
