A blend of vanilla beans is used in the brewing process to create the dominant vanilla flavor while the chocolate and coffee flavors of the Porter linger in the background.

Gorgeous looking beer dark ,turbid mahogany with a big , thick ,creamy light tan head. Excellent
Good chocolaty, dark coffee and vanilla aromas.
Taste is the same more vanilla and mid dark chocolate and fine creamy coffee..a little alcohol bite in the end but it goes well with the vanilla.
Nice palate to this one .
Very nice porter ,will buy again.

I think this beer doesn't quite get the respect it deserves. It's by no means a perfect Porter, but it's damn good looking and damn nice feeling. Near pitch black and clean with a sticky tanned foam. Creamy feel, medium to full bodied, smooth beer. Noticeable vanilla and chocolate in both flavor and aroma with a toasty bread and mineral water background. Not a bad beer at all, especially for $5. Cheers.

Poured from a bomber, no date. Lives up to its billing as a vanilla porter, just with the nose - clean vanilla notes come right out. No surprise as vanilla is highly aomatic. Dark pour, light head fading fast to a light skim coat. Taste is light and a bit tepid for a porter. Fades fast, no real mouthfeel - reminds us of an iced coffee with a shot of vanilla. OK but nothing outstanding.

I had this beer in a sampler, it tasted the best with the baby back ribs at the brew pub, so I ordered up a pint. Dark brown with a thin, tan head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is light, faint vanilla and some cocoa. Flavor is caramel and vanilla, a bit of chocolate and coffee. Very smooth and not overly sweet - that is why I enjoyed it particularly.

Look: Opaque brown, head that disapates quickly. Tinges of amber on the corners.
Smell: Roasted malts, bit of vanilla.
Taste: Roasted malts. Pretty smooth. Not very complex. Tiny amount of bitterness on the end.
Feel: Light mouth feel.
Overall: Honestly feels like more of a stout, still very smooth and easy drinking. Not overly bitter. Slightest bit of vanilla. Not a ton going on, fairly plain. Still pretty good. 7/10.
