I just found this beer on-tap at Capt. Ankeny's in Portland, OR. The bartender couldn't tell me anything about it, other than it was their on-tap fall seasonal...had a pint.
A: An attractive cloudy orange-amber with a flat head - more like an even coating of film. Nice clinging off-white lace.
S: VERY buttery and caramel-ly. Not like caramel malt, I'm talking sugary-sweet caramel corn. A good and interesting smell, but with very little of the spiciness I expected from a "pumpkin" beer...
T: Starts a little tangy and with hop bitterness. An earthiness & sour/citrus hopping, too. Sweetness comes through in the finish - hints of the pumpkin spicing: nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice. Not enough though...
M: Sharp and pretty crisp, has some resemblance to a brown ale. Disappointing that the spices and hops don't linger longer. Medium mouthfeel.
D: I suppose I'd get another one of these. It was a surprise to find this on tap - I honestly had never heard of this brewery. Worth a try, especially during the waning days of October.
