Another Klamath ale brewed with a complex grain bill. This one includes wheat, oats, four malts, and two additions of non-malted barley. The sum of this creates a smell like dusty grain bins that I enjoyed a great deal. There's also a creamy flavor and texture that's easy to appreciate.
But be prepared for an abnormally sweet beer that tastes like coffee with too much sugar. It's also a sullen ale with no carbonation, head, or lace. And it adamantly refuses to drop into established style categories. It's too sweet for anything other than a milk stout though no lactose is used. Roasted barley is discernible but not prominent.
This pure black ale may be too sweet for some tastes but it's worth getting acquainted with. Klamath Basin brews it as a winter beer but it was still serving during my visit in July.

Sampled this at the State of Jefferson pub in Ashland Oregon.
Pours a nice dark black color, with a sizable dark tan head.
Aromas are of dark roasted coffee, and a bit of bakers chocolate.
Flavors are nice, beer comes across as being slightly sweet. There is a general all around creamy dark chocolate quality. The finish is a bit bitter, and coffee like.
Mouthfeel is quite nice. Very full flavored beer.
This one was a pleasant surprise. A very tasty and drinkable stout.

On tap at Holiday Ale Festival 2006
Black beer with small but fluffy light tan head. Chocolate, roast and traditional slight stout sweetness drive up to fill your nose. The taste follows in line with the nose. A great stout taste with the fine flavors of chocolate, coffee and roast.
Really excellent beer that I think is libel to get lost amongst all the HUGE beers at this years festival. Very impressive beer that I will be seeking out in the Portland Area.
