Our brewery works closely with the Asheville Pizza and Brewing chefs to hand-craft a concoction of fresh vanilla beans, toasted cinnamon sticks, raisins, molasses, and caramelized ginger. This Christmas-y syrup is then added to Asheville Brewing’s World Beer Cup gold medal winner and year-round flagship beer, Ninja Porter.

Received a gifted can from my sweet/adjunct beer loving friend 1-23-23; undiscernible canning date but presumably in 11-2022 (given this years batch is in stores); consumed 11-28-23.
Beer poured dark brown with a beautiful tan head with the initial pour.
Nose is very nice, full of ginger, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Taste is nicely done as the ginger, vanilla, and cinnamon is expertly blended into the nice Ninja porter base recipe. Hopping is sufficent to keep this in balance.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty smooth.
Overall a nice holiday beer to pair with your gingerbread cookies!

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a two finger beige head forming from a bubble show; webby lacing
Smell: The fresh-baked gingerbread tones waft here, bringing ginger, allspice, molasses and cinnamon above the roasted malt
Taste: Roasted malt forward with the gingerbread spices emerging; at the same time, the molasses builds through the middle; after the swallow the flavors blend together with the spices and molasses prominent
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A really nice holiday porter that captures the essence of the season

On tap at the Appalachian Vintner in Asheville.
Pours with an essentially black body with a durable beige colored head.
This has a very spicy aroma and the flavor is on the verge of being over spiced. Fortunately, it has a well chosen spice mix that leaves a lingering and satisfying aftertaste.
Near fill body with medium-light carbonation. Improved with warming.

F: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Really nice gingerbread taste. A great holiday beer. Wish I had access to this, but sure glad I had it.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear extremely dark cola brown in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and light garnet red highlights. The beer has a three finger tall fluffy foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a medium to large sized patch of thick film surrounded by a thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of roasted malts with slightly stronger aromas of gingerbread spices - ginger, allspice, cinnamon, vanilla, and molasses.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of roasted malts with a light to moderate amount of molasses sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of gingerbread - ginger, allspice, cinnamon, and vanilla. Light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which fades away pretty quickly.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Hints of dryness from the spices in the finish.
O: Easy to drink and enjoyable with well hidden alcohol. Definitely reminds me of dunking a gingerbread cookie into a Ninja porter.
