This beer has a tropical fruity aroma to it.The head of this beer unfortunately diminished rather quickly in my glass. There was no lacing on the sides of my glass. This beer goes down very smoothly with no bitter aftertaste to it in my opinion.I would definitely drink this one again and again and again.

This brew poured a medium off white head f medium sized bubbles that leaves a nice lacing. It has a cloudy light brown body and a malty fruity combination. It has a very nice flavor that goes down smoothly with a mild finish and no foretaste. It's a very well rounded brew and just a little different.

This beer comes in the prettiest little speckled brown stone jar you have ever seen. It's capped with a regular bottle cap, but comes with the ceramic/rubber stopper on the side.
I poured it into a pilsener glass, where it foamed amply, but as soon as I turned back around from pitching the bottle cap, the head was gone--completely! The beer was a bit cloudy, and I couldn't tell if it was simply chill haze or if I had poured some yeast sediment out.
Even without its head, there's plenty of bite left in the brew. First impressions are that of Strong Scotch Ale with all of the same woody and leathery tones.
The aroma is a bit elusive, and I will refrain from calling it honey or honeysuckle, but it does have a very florid and fruity nose to it. Not estery mind you--just fruity. I think aracauna (review below) nailed it with "I'm tasting coriander and orange peel like in a Belgian white beer".
Indeed, the thought of brandy will pass through your mind once or twice swilling this hearty nectar. In the end however, a quick spin, sniff, and swallow left me more with a sense of fortified-wine (dry sherry) or madiera overtones.
If you ask me, a beauty of a marketing gimmick was lost by not calling this beer "Crock Bock" or "Bock in a Crock".
Also, if you've ever suffered from "growler remorse" at your local brewpub, don't expect anything different when you lay down $6 for this "crock of ages."

Very interesting beer. I'm tasting coriander and orange peel like in a Belgian white beer. Taste is very different. This beer stands apart. Not the prettiest beer, though. Only average head and looks like watered down apple juice.
