Picked this up as a single bottle at the local liquor store, just to try a new (to me) local brew.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Good Amber Color, pleasent lager aroma.

I was surprised by the well balanced taste. A malty rich flavor that I like in a medium lager, nice light bitterness which is appropriate to the style, and very crisp clean finish. Everything I look for in a session beer.

This is a beer that would pick up again, great for a day in the sun!

Amber in body with off white head. Aroma is a bit weak: touch of caramel, roasted grain, pepper, slight hops. A sweet, molasses note, grains and tang toward the finish, prunes in the aftertaste. Light in body and medium carb. Not a very refreshing beer, tastes become a bit sticky toward the end of the drink.

This one caught my eye at the Prudential Center in Newark for the Devs v. Isles game. I was further impressed to find out this beer is on on legitamite local creation and not some Macro's marketing ploy.

Poured into on on plastic cup(hey your at in an arena) on on cloudy dark tan orange with limited head and lacing however good retention.

A: The nose was mellow with candy aromas for the most part and wee bit of hops.

T: Flavor follows the nose but expands considerably to form a sweet suite of flavors. Chocolate for the start withperhaps some ginger for the spice section. For any Octoberfest classification, this beer is dark and complex with the candies.

M: Mouthfeel was thick and chewy which had me smiling into the second period and beyond. Again, good amount of carbonation toensure the sweetness does not take over completely.

D: i will pull for this every time and was very impressed

A- The Jersey Lager pours a nice red/brown color, it almost looks like cherry cola in a glass. A small white head formed but quickly disappeared.

S- i get hints of chocolate and sweet toasted malts.

T- Similar to the nose, cherries appear subtly. I get cinnamon and pepper, roasted sweet malts and a hint of citrusy hop bitterness on the finish. Fair over-all balance and a decent complexity.

M- Good and full for a lager, the high carbonation works for the beer.

D- Very good, i am thoroughly impressed with the Jersey Lager.

Single, twelve-ounce bottle just copped from Sparrow Wine and Liquors in Hoboken...
Pours a deep, dark, amber hue with no head and no lacing either...
Average, malty aroma with hints of vanilla and butter...
Strong caramel essence with nuances of candied sugars, honey, bread, and biscuits...
Decent mouthfeel along with a mediocore level of drinkability...
Not bad, but nothing above and beyond...

Labeled as a marzen/oktoberfest style.

A: The beer pours a clear, copper-orange color with a moderately sized dirty tan head. The head was moderately diminishing leaving behind a clean lacing. The beer exhibited a strong and vibrant carbonation.

S: The nose was clean with only slight hints of dry malt and a light presence on noble flowery hops.

T: The initial flavor was a light malt sweetness from the munich malt and had doughy bread notes for a palate. The beer finishes with a noticeable dry flowery hop bitterness and some burnt roasted malt lacing. The hop bite in the finish was quite a surprise per style.

M: The mouthful was light but felt soapy at times.

D: Overall more of a traditional lager then a oktoberfest style. The smoky finish and bittering hops would go nicely with the spiciness of a pepperoni pizza.

Picked up a bottle of this at the Cloverleaf Tavern a little while ago.

A: Pours a nice, amber body with no head of significance. However, there was evidence of some lacing.

S: A nice, sweet malty taste that was quite enticing.

T: A very malty taste that was in accordance with what I was expecting from the smell. There were hints of caramel in the aftertaste, but it would have been better/more evident if the alcohol was a bit more shielded. Slightly bitter in the finish. Otherwise, great taste.

M: A solid, full-bodied mouthfeel. Nice and smooth. I would definitely have it again and recommend it to my friends.

D: A fairly drinkable beer.

12oz bottle obtained via trade with Plaid75. Thanks for the opportunity...

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/2" beige head over the clear brownish copper brew. Head fades at a reasonable pace, with average to good lacing. Aroma is grain husks with a slight sour tinge. Flavor is malt sweetness upfront, with a slight sour/vegetal taste in the middle, which lingers though the aftertaste. Mouthfeel and drinkability are not too bad either. This one hits the middle of the road for the style, there's better, but there's worse too.

12 ouncer w/o freshness indication, pours light amber, with a medium bubble light tan head, with fine bubble rising to the top. The nose is of bready malts. Smooth, easy drinking little brew. Malty with notes of honey, more doughy bread and some slight vanilla. Drys out nicely late. MIddle of the roader for sure. Decent fall brew, instead of a "lawnmower brew" maybe this one is a "leaf pick-up day brew"

Poured a medium copper hue with a one and a half finger white pillowy head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell was upfront malty and slightly sweet. There was a smattering of flowery hop present as well.

The taste was also on the malty sweet side. A strong doughy body more or less hid the presence of most of the bittering hop. However, still manged to finish dry.

The mouthfeel was average with good carbonation.

Overall a quaffable marzen. I may hold on to the rest of these and enjoy them this fall.

Poured amber with a small head that quickly became hardly few bubbles.
The smell was a bit thin, but what was there was a floral fruitiness with a slight caramel background.
The taste was thin - a touch of caramel miced in with a touch of fruity hops and a metallic-like taste in the finish.
Overall, it wasn't too bad - but a bit too thin and watery - IMO.
It lacked the body and the sweetness that I look for in this style. I was able to finish and even had another...but, in the end, it was just average...

Weidenmayer Jersey Lager

Appearance- dark mahagony red/ brown with a thick stout like head.
Smell- sweet malt and grains ( sunflower seeds and barley)
Taste- watery with a touch of malt acidic hops.
Mouthfeel- acidic and bitter.

Overall- would of enjoyed more if not for the metallic acid taste.

Poured a beautifully clear deep orangey auburn color. Small amounts of fine carbonation rise to the top of the glass then leave small dots of lace. The aroma has a pleasantly chewy bouquet about it. Bready like a fresh cranberry loaf – it makes me want to take a bite. The presentation of this beer is first rate. The taste is flavorful and light with small touches citric bitterness. The body is a bit one dimensional and I feel could do with some more malt texture. Overall, I believe this is an easily drinkable lager. Plain and simple, although not much there to WOW! me. But, then again, maybe that really wasn’t the intention here.

poured a deep amber color with moderate long-lasting tannish head. Virtually no lacing on the side of the glass. Smell is minimal with a light caramel scent. Taste is mostly of toasted malt, with moderate sweetness. Hops are present in the finish, but a little too strong for my liking, completely oppressing the maltiness. OK for an Oktoberfest, but nothing outstanding.

I was not expecting a fest beer..I was thinking a pale lager like Yuengling or Rheingold. Wow, what a pleasant and tasty surprise! Pours clear copper with a longer lasting beige head that leaves lots of sticky lace. Great fest profile. Caramel, some dough and biscuit in the nose. Taste was sweet malts up front with a floral and drying finish. Jolly good show!

Clear reddish amber with a substantially off-white head that hangs in there. Nose is very lightly toasty, a decent helping of Kraft caramel cubes, hint of fruit, and hops that are slightly floral and spicy. Surprisingly firm bitterness offsets the malt sweetness. The beer tastes more roasty and less caramel sweet than the nose would suggest, but the sweetness is there. Bitterness and one-dimentional roasted notes linger well into the finish. They’ve got a pretty good thing going here.
