Came in to get a growler fill after calling in to see what was on tap, was told it was their fresh hop ale, which made me stoked, just picked up some founders harvest ale and was definetly in the mood for another good wet hop brew. Then bummed, guess it's so prized they're not giving out growlers right now, so I picked up a pint.
Appearance was a nice 2 finger thick sticky head. Nice amber color with great clarity.
Smell wasn't where it was at, can't really put my finger on it, not exactly a typical ipa, more of a clean nose.
Taste was wonderful, I don't know why but I automatically associated green hop with green bullet and I'm not sure if this is what MABC was going for but it's wonderful. Very dry, bitter, sticky, ipa. Very good fresh hop taste.
Mouthfeel was slightly creamy, went down very easy with a dry finish.
Overall I wish they would bottle this stuff, Mad Anthony's has been coming out with some pretty decent one offs, and all are only available at the brewpub. So if you seek a great ipa, make your way out while it's still here, great offering.
