Received this hand-bottled sampled last summer/fall and really wanted to wait longer, but I'm ready for this tonight.
Appearance - pours a hazed darkish orange. Not much head, though after pouring a small cover materializes and maintains a collar for a bit that leaves a few lace rings.
Aroma - very orangy, fresh squeezed all the way. I like it.
Taste - sweet malty start. It is short-lived as the hops move in quickly and fiercely. Lots if citrusy orange as expected, and then continuing on into the grapefruit range and unfortunately, well into the medicinal stage. The aftertaste and finish are harshly bitter, undoing the enjoyment of the opening.
Mouthfeel - medium body, good carbonation level.
Drinkability - some hop profiles just don't agree with me and this is one. Smells great, but perhaps if I'd had more patience and waited for the hops to age out... Oh well, thanks to the good folks at Mad Anthony for the sample.

Appearance: Pours with only 1/4 of off white head. The beer itself is copper in color.
Smell: Smells of cirtusy hps, like a dry hopped beer. Sweet malt.
Taste: Hops all around; bitter and nice aroma hops. Solid sweet malt body to balance out the hops.
Mouthfeel: Average ot below average carbonation level, as I would expect from a barleywine.
Drinkability: Overall good, but becomes almost cloying after awhile.

This beer had a definite aftertaste to it that stuck around for quite a while. This definitely is not my kind of beer.It poured basically no head. The body was cloudy and the hue of this beer was dark brown. It had a mild nose to it and I could definitely taste the alcohol in this beer.

This brew poured a cloudy dark brown body with little to no head. It's aroma was very mild and left me wondering if it had any at all. It has a strong barley wine for and after taste. You can clearly taste the alcohol in it, but not my favorite flavor. I much prefer smoother beers.
