Pours dark black (but not opaque) with a small, quarter-inch head with no retention. Smell is of molases, and the brew could use a lot of extra carbonation. Despite being labelled as a stout, it seems to fit more as a porter.Much too light with no chocolate or expresso flavors or smells. If it was marketed as a porter, I might give it higher marks, but I expect my stouts to be much more complex (and carbonated).
The overall smoothness, however, does help it to be a little more of a session beer.
