Growler acquired in trade with stine (thanks!).

I'm putting this rating under here because this is the only witbier listed for Barley John's.

Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of cloves, wheaty, bananas, and citrus. Tastes of fruitiness, citrus, and light spices. Thin body. Refreshing on a hot day.

Color is solid glowing yellow, a bit darker on top, lighter at the bottom. A finger high head of bleach white foam fades fast and leaves thick strings of lace. Smell is a dark dull lemon with a bit of dark orange with a solid sweet wheat and a touch of candy apple. Taste is more of the same, subdued but present of lemon with a bit of dark orange, a bit of wheaty sweet zest and yeast all mostly coming through closer to the finish. Feel is light to medium body with a light souring finish. A very nice refresher. Its a cross between a hefe and Belgain pale, which makes for good summer drinkin'.

The staff at Barley John's were kind enough to give me a free sample of this brew. It poured to a cloudy, golden-yellow color with a white head. The aroma was of wheat, and yeast and the medicinal characteristics of a Belgian golden ale. It was fruity and yeasty, with the wheat flavors and also the medicinal and clovey flavors. Talking with the brewer he said it was kinda like a cross of a Hefe-weizen and a Belgian Wit. It was light bodied and easy drink, not a bad brew at all.
