Tap only.
This is a dark amber liquid with an ivory head that has moderate lasting power leaving soapy lacing on the glass. The smell is classic Belgian, fruity esters, mostly banana, but a little stone fruit as well with just a little biscuit aroma as well. Like most of Barley John's offerings, this is a very malt forward ale. The flavors carry over from the nose along with a little bit of caramel and light, spicy hops. Nicely smooth on the palate, velvety, with moderate carbonation. A very good example of the style, but nothing to set it apart from other domestic tripels. Not quite up to La Fin Du Monde, Allagash Tripel or any of the true Belgians, but very respectable. Worth another.
