Draft. 2010 St. Paul Summer Fest. Poured a dark brown with a slight head. Some chocolate notes in the aroma along with some malts. Nice bite of the roasted malts with the first sip. Not bad but not outstanding either. Medium mouthfeel. Would have again but nothing I would freak out about if they had it on tap.

Purchased on tap at the brewpub.
A: deep, dark ruby-brown color, clean
S: mild nose with roasted malt, very clean and sweet
T: exceptional, well-balanced, roasted sweet malt taste but not too much with good mild hop balance, very good traditional mild (you don't see this too much in the US)
M & D: very drinkable

Apperance: dark brown, nearing black, with a small tan head that slips away too soon...Aroma: some nuttiness, some malt, but very spare and clean.
Taste: more substance than many other milds I've had, a good burst of maltiness, with a sturdy mouthfeel. Very smooth, easy drinkability, a nice halfway beer, for those who like some kind of darker feel in flavor, but not enough to trouble the mind and tongue as it travels down the esophagus.
I liked it and admired it, but meanwhile, I leered at STUBOB's Old No. 8 Porter and wished we could switch!
