On tap at the brewpub, this pours a deep clear brownish red color, with a minimal white head and no lacing on the glass. The smell is sweet and malty. The taste is sweet with caramel malt, brown sugar, a definite nuttiness, and just enough hop flavor to balance this wonderful beer. To me this tastes like a particularly good example of an English Brown Ale, although it is listed as a "Red". Either way, this is a tasty beer that I could drink all night. Nice job!
