Originally reviewed April 1, 2005. On tap at the brewpub. A rich orange honey pour, lightly topped with a fully diminishing head. Aromas of floral, lemon, and light honey. Somewhat different hops presentation, more rounded but leaving a somewhat unpleasant strong bitter residue on the palate. Rich, but dry. Not much depth. I feel like I’m eating grass. A little sharp floral finish in the nose. Palate is drinkable.

This is a bit deeper brown in color than most APAs, but but nowhere near a brown ale. Nice bubbley head. It smells and tastes a lot like piney, resinous, almost cannabis-like hops, with some citrus flavor. The malt is pretty good as well, a bit cloudy, but definitely still see through, and has a pretty good pale/sweet flavor that's ever so slightly toasted. There is nothing that really stands out about the mouthfeel and drinkability.

Color is a clear yellow with a small puffy white head that fades to a fairly decent skim that stays present and leaves thin patches and strings of lace. Smell is way light of dried hops, somewhat detectable malt backing. Taste has a good amount of dried hops, piney and resin filled, favorable malt backbone, balance is towards the hops, with a close to medium body feel, very smooth and drinkable, a bit milder then most pales, but indeed nice on its own accord.
