The appearance was probably the most outstanding quality of this beer. I was a deep silky black with a deep frothy head. Very roasted smell. The tasted was roast dominated, with some sweet carmel undertones. Defineitly a hoppier porter with balanced out the malt well. average mouthfeel and drinkablilty for a porter.

Deep russet color. Thick, bubbly brown head. Good retention. Lace is adequate. Aroma of cocoa and roasted nuts. Pleasing, but could be stronger. Taste is a combo of baker's chocolate and roasted malt. Nice "cascade" hop tones. (I think) There's also a lactic sweetness presence to mix with the roasted bitterness. A lingering dry cocoa powder is left on the tongue. Mouthfeel is a little flacid. Not bad. Decent brew.

Midnight black with a small light brown head..very nice dark cocoa, java nose...body is medium....on the taste I'm first struck with immediate sweet milk chocolate....that gives way to some nice java notes and then it finishes with a dark bitter cocoa finish...nice dry finish....
This is a quality porter I would definitely drink again...it has some character and some flavor....not an all-time great but pretty solid and well made..

Solid looking dark and deep brown, some deeper red shows around the edges with a thin off-white/tan head that lays a thin haze for awhile then disappears, lace in minimal spots. Smell is a solid roastyness, rich, lush, a nice touch of chocolate and coffee mixed in over the top. Taste is more of the same with a nice deep dark roasted malt flavor with a nice light mix of some chocolate and coffee, notes of nuttyness and roasted tangyness that lingers. Too bad its short lived in its flavor and hold, could be held a bit longer with a bit more body. Feel is close to medium, lightly creamy, and has a fairly nice finish of tang and mild dry bitterness that sticks for a smidgen longer then the actual taste. A pretty good porter, a longer lasting flavor and some more heft in the body and feel and this would be a keeper for sure. With that said, I did have another, it was the better of the bunch that I had during my visit.
