I feel especially obligated to review this, as its earlier manifestation received such poor reviews (for good reason). But this rendition is, by far and away, my favorite beer to come out of Fitger's.
It's dark, brown/black... nice cap of milky tan froth that produces a good bit of lace.
Between the nose and palate there is a massive chocolate cake batter thing going on, fleshy raspberry juice, mild and appropriate bourbon presence, some vanilla, drying cocoa powder, some honey flavors, toasted oak, and some caramel if you really look for it.
This beer is fucking tremendous.
