Originally reviewed on December 6, 2005. On tap at the brewpub. A dusky rusty-amber hued orange, with a slick head of orange-tinted white. Peculiarly familiar spice aroma. Theres some reserved lime and a touch of clove. Some nutmeg and more exotic duskyness. Flavor very similiar, but with a sweet flavor of peas and some light sugary hops. Some marzipan and earthiness shows through, with plenty allspice in the background. Warm yeast and bread round the flavor. Bright, sweet and clean, with plenty of ginger. Sweet malt moves towards a nice gingerbread. Palate is enjoyably sugary, but also quaffably quenching. This is pretty close to Anchor OSA 2004.

Here is how the brewer describes this beer:"A Belgian style ale spiced with cardamom, grains of paradise, and corriander."

From a growler:
Now I don't know what cardamom is or even grains of paradise but I can tell you they add a unique quaility to this beer....Very compelling aroma...sweet and spicy but unlike any aroma I've smelled before....I'd place it closer to a Whit than anything else..
Crimson accented brown color....no head....very low carbonation...imparts almost a watery mouthfeel although it really isn't watery tasting...spicy notes complement the sweeter maltiness of this...finishes spicy....ABV is hidden nicely...
This ia beer worth trying...a tigher carbonation level might have made this one special...as is it's still pretty good and certainly very unique.
